ART SHOW BARNES AND NOBLE

Thanks to Barnes and Noble for hosting my works of art during this month of June. Thanks to Terri Eades, who designed my card, using my batik and my photo of a local fire show.
The works displayed include photographs and batiks. More batiks would have been shown, but thanks to my trying to hurry the process of batik dye, I ruined nine batiks several days before the deadline.

Don't miss this special art show at Pablo's in Fruita

On display at Pablo's Pizza of Fruita, located in the Kokopelli Shopping Center south of I-70 on highway 340, is a great showing of children's art. The 130 plus pieces represent the fun and the learning experienced by over 130 art campers  during the four camps held in June at the Fruita Civic Center.

This is a show you do not want to miss. It was hung July 1 and will be on display through July 25.
July 25 is the date for the closing reception held between 2 and 4 p.m. hosted by Pablo's owner, Ted Okey.
Do not miss this special celebration of the arts and children. Teachers Vera Mulder, Lauri
and Naomi Barlow are very excited about this showing of what elementary students can do.
What a great combo...art and great food!

As noted on the GJCity.org site,
"Works of art by several local artists have graced the hallways and lobbies of the Grand Junction City Hall at 250 N. 5th Street, which provides an excellent venue for art displays. The temporary artwork (rotating displays) augments the numerous sculptures and paintings which are part of the City's permanent collection on display throughout the building.

For artwork to be featured at the City hall, artists are selected and invited to exhibit by the City Hall Art Exhibit Committee. The Commission on Arts and Culture and the City Hall Art Exhibit Committee organize the rotating exhibits to feature outstanding area artists and their work.

The temporary displays reflect the wonderful diversity of art and artists in the Grand Valley. They have featured a wide variety of local painters, fiber and tapestry artists, sculptors, photographers, ceramic artists, and artists' guilds and clubs.

The popular annual exhibit of paintings, drawings, photography, pottery, and carved wood sculpture by several City of Grand Junction employees is displayed on the second floor Community Art Wall.

The City Hall building is open to the public from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM on Monday through Friday."
