There will be four art camps beginning with the first week of June. Register at the City Parks and Rec office located at the north end of the Civic Center, main floor. You may call 858 0360 or go to the city web site. http://www.fruita.org/
The fee has not changed for the past three years, everything is furnished except for a brown bag lunch, water bottle and perhaps a het for recess since the sun can be brutal.
The camp is run by certified art teachers. Each week is different. students begin at 10 am and end at 3 pm. Give this camp a try, you will not regret it.

Art Week at the Art Center is fun for over 4000 elementary school students.
Elementary school students from Loma to Palisade, and in between were treated to art week at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts April 20 through April 28. Workshops included cartoons, fool proof batik, blacksmithing, sculpture, painting, collage art, music and potters wheel. Students were able to watch professionals create their art and ask all kinds of questions. In the batik class, students were able to collaborate and create a batik for their class to take home. Their teacher got to iron out the wax when she/he arrived back in the classroom, matt the piece and have the artists, the class, sign their names since all were able to help create the batik.
For teachers, be sure to watch for this week of art registration information to be sent to your school sometime in december of January of each year. Sign up early. Those who have to travel by bus, this is important to get the time slot best suited to having to travel by bus. Some Grand Junction schools are able to walk to the center.
