A glorious Fourth of July to all...

These two yellow swallow tail butterflies
were found on our lawn doing their summer
job.

Fourth of July Night
The little boat at anchor in black water sat murmuring to the tall black sky
A white sky bomb fizzed on a black line.
A rocket hissed it's red signature into the west.
Now a shower of Chinese fire alphabets,
A cry  off flower pots broken in flames,
A long  curve to a purple spray, three violet balloons..
Drips of seaweed tangled in gold, shimmering symbols of mixed numbers,
Tremulous arrangements of cream gold folds of a bride's wedding gown---
A few sky bombs spoke their pieces, then velvet dark.
The little boat at anchor in black water sat murmuring to the tall black sky.

235 years ago.. July 4th, 1776
Our great nation
Faced a struggle for what was right and free,
And a new nation was born.
Today may we celebrate that precious freedom
For which so many gave their lives
From the Revolutionary War, the Great War to today’s conflict.
We strive to keep our freedoms
As hopefully we learn to be compassionate and
Respectful of all our fellow men and women
May the stars and stripes in our flag
Bring together the partisan sects breathing bigotry, ambition, and greed,
So they forget their selfishness and work together
For the good of all colors, creeds, beliefs and origins.
Celebrate Freedom not only today, but every day!

And to each of you, may the light of the freedoms we need
to work together to preserve, continue to light your lives.
Enjoy the photos posted here, of the Fruita Fire Department's
great show for the community...of the fun at Snooks Bottom earlier in the day.
