Fruita holds first annual F-Town Film Festival and Rotary sponsors first annual F-Town Gear up

Thanks to the Fruita Rotary, the city of Fruita saw its first F-Town Gear Down take place October 19 and 20.
Mountain bikers from wide and far came to ride trails, take part is contests and enjoy music and brews Friday and Saturday nights.

The Fruita Arts and Culture Board initiated their first baby steps in getting a film festival off the ground.
Titled F-Town Film Festival, the group hopes the idea morphs into making Fruita a destination for watching films of all kinds. Wouldn't it be great to enjoy the kinds of festivals in Telluride or Park City? Who knows, we can dream.

These photos are random shots from one of the
film festival enteries, the theme of which was biking for this year's enteries.

fruita is a great destination for mountain biking with all the many surrounding trails.

Jerry Leon designed this image, one of the two posters for the event.

Team Salida watched their entry which placed first.

Home town music turned out some great tunes. Pineapple Crackers and the William Brothers
were some of the entertainment gigs.

With bicycle polo being played often in the parking lot of Fruita Fitness,
here riders got a game going near the Pavillion.
