It's the 2012 season for Rimrock Rodeo

Photos follow the rodeo results. (Don't forget to check each week for results and lots of photos)

The 2012 season got off to a great start Tuesday,  New barrel racers and skittish horses but still three racers borke to 17 second plus. In 1D Latore Tiller placed first with 17.61 seconds and Loni Wolfe was a hair behind with a 17.74.  In 2D Katy Jones raced to a 18.71 first place. Chelsea Hotchkiss was in the second place money with one 1/100 of a second behind first, or 18.72. In 3D, Anna Jolly was first with 19.73 and Tracey Jackson was so close with 19.76 behind her.
The bulls were something to behold, kicking pieces of sky as they twisted and tossed their riders. Sean Foster was the only successful rider with 77 points and the full pot of prize money.
The Junior bulls won hands down with no riders placing. Same for Bareback.
The saddle broncs are always a highlight and Doug Schanlau was first , ahead of Daz Hodlock, second.
Ribbon roping is a fun event to watch. Pake Yonger and CJ Vonbelte had the fastest time with Jesse Cordova and Brittany Moon as second.
Jace Norell was number one in breakaway and Devan Vondette, second.

Team roping always has many contestants. After the slack competition in the afternoon, in Category #8 Sheanna Shipley and Bronder Edwards were first place and Larry Wehlinh and Chris Wekling at second.
Category #11 featured Dusky Raine and Jerry Brown in first place followed by Kyle Rush and Jim Bob Gummersal at second.

Mutton Busting always brings lots of cheers as the young tikes take to the back of an ewe and see how it might be someday to ride bulls. Those dollar bills always seem to heal any tears.
