Grand Junction Symphony encourages music

THE SYMPHONY ROCKS!!!!!
Fruita Art Camp number three was treated to the Grand Junction Symphony's petting zoo. This event provided each of the campers to try out the instruments the representatives of the symphony brought to their camp site.According to Michael, the symphony will have an instrument petting opportunity at the next Thursday's Farmers Market, downtown Grand Junction.

The instruments were divided into their families, precussion, strings, brass, and woodwinds.
Some in the camp were surprised to learn that a piano is a precussion instrument.

This was a wonderful opportunity for kids to get an idea of how to play an insturment. It is hoped that some of the youngsters will now decide to join a band or orchestra. Music is so important to the learning process as has been proven time after time.  And, it also has been proven that when children are engaged in worthwhile activities like band, choir and orchestra, there is less time to get into trouble that could ruin lives.
SO, SHOW THIS BLOG TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. ASK THEM TO SUPPORT THE SYMPHONY THROUGH DONATIONS, VOLUNTEERING AND WHATEVER MEANS AVAILABLE. THIS WILL BE GOOD FOR EVERYONES' FUTURE.

The precussion instruments were a juge hit.

"And this is my drum roll."

"Wow, this is like playing a piano."

"Do you think everyone can hear me?"

"Man, it's not easy to play a flute, but it is fun to try."

Violins seemed to entrall all of the campers.

The misuc teacher helped students play a melody...
their blowing and her finger placements.

"I feel like a concert violinist."

"I think I want to play claranet."

"This is so keen!"

With a small violin under her chin, this gal loved playing it.

'And you make your lips vibrate...phrrrr"

Who knows, she could become a serious musician.

"Music, here I come!"

Artists were busy after the musicians left, drawing what
they had seen and what they had tried.

"Check this out!"
