Currier has continued to do a tremendous job with the three orchestras. The She has chosen this season to be her last and will retire in May. There will be one last concert performed by the high school orchestra under her direction in May.

The audience was treated to the seventh grade’s performance of “Country Wedding” by Smetana/Dackow and “Autumn” from “The Four Seasons’’ by  A. Vivaldi/Meyer.

Violin soloists included Jethary Rader, Joanna Wilcox, Kaitlyn Shelby, Erin Gordon, Leah Gordon and Kately Hansen.

Among works performed by the 8/9 orchestra, were “The Gift” by Hofeldt and “Contrasts  in E minor” by Feese.

Delighting the audience, FMHS strings filled the auditorium with Peter Warlock’s “Capriole Suite”.

Ending the evening on melodic notes was FMHS Chamber Orchestra performing Edvard Grieg’s “Holberg Suite.”

Steven Loge on the violin, Rachel Henderson on the viola and Justin Kattnig, Joanna Karly and Liz Searcy on their cellos, were featured soloists.

Watch for the end of the year final high school orchestral performance in May.
