Placing third, the Dolphin team saw many personal best times.
With eleven teams including several unattached swimmers, competition was at its top form with swimmers from New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and Western Slope teams including Delta, Aspen, Steamboat and Montrose.
The Colorado Springs Falfins Team placed first with 2,522.5 points. Montrose Marlins placed second with 2,223 points. Grand Junction Dolphins earned 2,195.5 points.
If she continues to persevere with her swimming skills, 12 year-old Julie Henninger, of the Falfins, could be the first woman to match the Olympic record of Phelps. Carlos Matthews, Dolphins, helped his team with his win in the 200 butterfly and 200 meter backstroke in the 13-14 age group. Fruita's Tyler Fair, Dolphins won the 15 and older 200 meter backstroke with a 2:30.45.
Don't miss the Colorado State Long Course Championships July 30 and August 1st. This event will also take place at Mesa state's El Pomar Natatorium.
