Mesa County Fair Juy 2019

The Mesa County Fair for 2019 features General displays ranging from hand work to just about anything.
The 4H part of the fair is especially important showcasing the work and creativity of area youth. This years displays ranged from leather working to hunting, to cake decorating, record keeping of the animals, livestock, turkeys, rabbits and swine.  These club members work hard to achieve the best work
they can do. In this process they learn work ethics, food, finance and so much more.
Other events at the fair include entertainment and of course the bull riding.
The fairway this year consisted of blow up games as there was no carnival nor fireworks.
Here are some shots to show events this Saturday, the animal sell day.

The turkey was Grand  Champion, I think.
So much work and caring went into taking care of this bird.

The sand box made a great place for youngsters to wait
for their siblings to show their animals.

How proud this young 4her was to have raised the
Grand Champion rabbit. Sold for $800, the buyer sent the
rabbit home with her. the money will be great in
her college fund.
thanks to all those who purchased these works of
love produced by these young people.

The first heifer to win a championship  in
years, made a great showing and added
to her owner's college fund as Reserve Grand
Champion.

Often siblings shared the work raising their animals. This
is one happy goat

Another lucky bird knows how much
the owner cares for it.

Lots of love goes into raising these
wonderful animals. Owners learn
so very much.

The last minute grooming adds to the
excitement of the show.

Food at the fair is always there for the
enjoyment of everyone.

A pleasant greeter at the entrance helps set the mood.
The Fair was free admission this year.

I aim sure there are many conversations
that take place between 4Hers and their
projects.

"Thank you", says the swine to its owner...

"And just who do you think you are
taking my photo?  Next you will
want me to sign it."

These tell the audience that the steer about
to be sold, is home grown and fed.
Instead of a carnival with ferris wheel and rides, blow up
slides and such were this years venue.
