Nov 11 Armistice Day

This special day originated at the end of World War I. On the 11th day of the 11th month, at the 11th hour of the day, 1918,  the Cease Fire was signed marking the end of that horrific war. Although hostilities still went on across the former Russian Empire and in parts of the Ottoman Empire
Throughout the years this special day has evolved as the day to remember all who have served in all the wars.
Saturday, Nov. 8, Grand Junction witnessed one of many special parades which are taking place in honor of our veterans, living as well as now deceased. The parade well recognized our veterans for their place in our history and for their work in preserving and protecting our nation. It was an emotional time for many observers.
Three quotes from veterans fit this day.
"It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you." M. Grundler.

"In war, there are no unwounded soldiers." Jose Narosky

"This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." Elmer Davi

Make it a point to thank a Veteran everytime you have the occasion, and, take action to help those veterans who find themselves homeless for whatever reason.

Enjoy the photos posted here in recognition of this special day.
