Artist Moni Heil featured
at Frame Depot for January
Every month we have the pleasure of featuring a new artist
at Frame Depot. This has been a well
received event and we are excited to be showcasing artist Moni Heil for the
month of January.
Heil is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art,
majoring in painting and silversmithing.
After graduating she followed her dream and moved to the Colorado
Mountains, where her life was surrounded by livestock, wildlife and the horses
she loved. It was at this time that her art
changed from formal portraiture to portraying the essence of the contemporary
western life. Her paintings are noted
for their strong light, composition and detail capturing the fundamental nature
of her subject.
Heil’s paintings have been exhibited in many shows
throughout the country including the Heart of the West at the National
Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, TX, the Cowgirl Up! in
Wickenburg, AZ, the Phippen Museum Western Art Show in Prescott, AZ and
the Heart of the West in Lander, WY.
She was featured in an article titled “In the Eyes” in Western Horseman
magazine in March 2011. Heil’s artwork
has also graced the cover of magazines like Rocky Mountain Rider in Juiy
2010.
At the Frame Depot we have had the priviledge of framing
many of Heil’s paintings over the last few years and they are always receiving
attention from customers while they are waiting to be framed. We are so blessed to live in a community
that values art as much as Grand Junction does and we are excited to introduce
Heil and her artwork to our Grand Valley.
There will be a reception for Heil on Saturday, January 5th
from 1-4pm. Wine and refreshments will
be served.
