Hot Tomato ralley and support gathers 'round

Tuesday, June 16 saw a big crowd ralley at the Hot Tomato.because of the landlord's
intent to raise the rent substantially,
Jen and Annie, owners, are asking for support so the very popular
restaurant can stay in Fruita,
alive and well.
Included in the rent are the property taxes and maintanence.
Otherwise this would not be such
a drastic hike. As publicized in the Daily Sentinel, the building is in needof quite a bit of tender, loving care.
The City of Fruita is well aware that the community cannot lose anothertax revenue source.
especially with the upcoming construction of a new community Recreation Center
A group of Hot Tomato supporters visited the City Council meeting and spoke to the Council about their situation near the end of the meeting.
Paul Harshman and Flat Top Reed will by playing to help raise funds, this Saturday, June 20. The music will go from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
