The Fruita Parks and Recreation Department held its annual talent show recently. What an incredible show it was, as it hosted all ages within the community. Three to five-year old dancers and singers easily won the hearts of the audience as they performed, thanks to the many hours of practice and guidance from talented instructors.  Talented youngsters ranged from this tender age on up to high school, singers, dancers, guitar and piano players. And then, the Fruita senior citizens showed their talents. They showcased  their talents in song and dance as well.
Ellen Roberts and Mary Lee Bowen had the audience in stitches as they did their routine based on a Patsy Cline song...having to do with a lost lover..."I still have your records, but she has you..." as they drew out the items in the song and tossed then to the audience.
Coleen Murphy, art teacher at Fruita Middle School, sang another Patsy Cline song as she wowed the audience with her voice. (You should be recording, Murphy.)
Daphanie Blanchard and her dance troupe let it be known that dance is for everyone. They perform year round for groups and organizations who invite them.  Seniors are invited to join the class and keep active while they have fun, make new friends and stay in shape.
(Since this is the second posting to this blog and the writer is still new at all this, she will post as many photos as allowed, hopefully more later.)
